Little Johnny
After church, Johnny tells his parents he has to go and talk to the minister right away. They agree, and the pastor greets the family.
“Pastor,” Johnny says, “I heard you say today that our bodies came from the dust.”
“That’s right, Johnny, I did,” he says.
“And I heard you say that when we die, our bodies go back to dust.”
“Yes, I’m glad you were listening,” the pastor replies. “Why do you ask?”
“Well you better come over to our house right away and look under my bed, ’cause there’s someone either comin’ or goin’!”

Listener Feedback
My Grandmother died about fifteen years ago, she was the most god-loving person I have ever known.

She was born around 1905; she went through a lot of tough times – two husbands passing away, a daughter passing away, my father having two bouts with Rheumatic fever, and all the normal problems encountered raising kids in the times before, and during WW2 and for some time after, plus being broke for much of that time.

But God and Jesus was the Foundation of her life, her church and the people in it – her support group.

To me fearing God is for people that need a reason to stay on the path, she had no doubt of God’s love for us and the bible was the book she lived by, thus no fear – only love.

When death was close (she knew it and was ready) we went to visit her knowing that it was most likely the last time we would see her alive. We heard her say “Why is God keeping me here?”. Knowing her faith, and to hear her question God – shook me deeply (still gets to me today) I told her “God is not done with you yet, you still have something to do”. I do not think she heard me. After leaving, I came to the realization that the thought and statement were not meant for her, God meant it for me. She died two days later her job for God was done and her faith rewarded.

After she died I got one of her Bibles (The Living Bible), the last one she was reading – she wore the others out. About a third of it is underlined. That bible is vacuum packed to protect it. (I bought 5 copies – one for me, one for each of my 3 nieces, and one for my nephew.)

As I learn and grow as a Christian, her faith and strength are wonder and an inspiration to me

She would be amazed at the technology today, but more amazed that I actually listen to the bible while driving to work everyday.

I listen to your podcast everyday at work (I have restarted from the beginning);  gentlemen you put the bible and the word of god into everyday terms that are easy to understand and have  cleared up a lot of issues that have confused me for a long time after getting the “polluted” gospel that is preached in the liberal Northeast (N.J.).

The gun part is very cool also, I have a bunch of guns (still need more however). Concealed carry in NJ? only a dream

Suggestion, put the parts of the bible that permit self-defense some place on the web site, in addition to the show notes.

WPLG in Miami is hoping viewers can help identify a burglar who was caught on surveillance video attempting to break into a home — and then taking off in a hurry after being confronted by a mother of two wielding a shotgun.
A mom is home alone with her 2 kids when an intruder breaks in! But she was armed and ready to protect her family
The woman, who did not want to be identified, was at home with her children, ages 10 and 3.
The burglar quickly realized that he was in serious trouble after making it inside the home.“He was running for his life and kept looking back, making sure I wasn’t going to shoot him in the back,” the woman said.
“What stopped you from killing this guy?” Local 10 News reporter Michael Seiden asked.
“My kids. Not traumatizing them and I did have a baby,” she said.

Bus Crash
A bus full of ugly people had a head on collision with a truck. When they died, God granted all of them one wish. The first person said, “I want to be gorgeous.” God snapped his fingers and it happened. The second person said the same thing and God did the same thing. This want on and on throughout the group. God noticed the last man in line was laughing hysterically. By the time God got to the last ten people, the last man was laughing and rolling on the ground. When the man’s turn came, he laughed and said, “I wish they were all ugly again.”

Boise woman scares off attempted carjacker with pistol: ‘It was shock and fear’

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — A woman saved herself from a dangerous situation with her pistol kept in her car Monday.

“I couldn’t believe it, it was shock and fear,” said the unidentified woman.

It happened at the corner of west Kootenai and south Hilton streets. A woman just dropped off her 9-year-old daughter Monday morning around 7:30 a.m. She was driving alone when a man jumped out in front of her car. She slammed on the brakes and it stalled.

“He came to the driver’s side door of my car and opened it and demanded my keys and my purse and when I refused to give it to him he started hitting me in the head multiple times,” the woman said.

The would-be carjacker refused to give up.

“He got my face once, and my forehead once, and when that didn’t work he grabbed my hair and began pulling me out of my car and I finally said ‘OK, OK, that’s enough stop! I’ll give you my purse,” said the woman.

So he did. That’s when the woman got the upper hand.

“When I turned to give him my purse, I reached in my center console and I grabbed my gun and I pointed it at him, and it scared him off,” the woman said.

The woman says the man ran down an alley that leads to the back of a nearby Albertsons grocery store. He disappeared from sight. She can only wonder what might have happened if she didn’t have her pistol.

“He probably would’ve dragged me out of my car and kept beating me… I honestly don’t know if he would have stopped,” the woman said.

The suspect remains at large. KBOI 2News withheld the identity of the victim to protect her.

A Priest, A Minister, A Rabbi And A Bear
A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who’s best at his job. So each one goes into the woods, finds
a bear, and attempts to convert it. Later, they all get together. The priest begins: “When I found the bear, I read to him from the catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his first Communion.”

“I found a bear by the stream,” says the minister, “and preached God’s holy Word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him.”

They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. “Looking back,” he says, “maybe I shouldn’t have started with the
circumcision.”

Cannibal Jokes (Jeff Quinn)

  • A cannibal passed his brother in the woods.
  • Two cannibals were eating a clown. One looks up and says, “Does this taste funny to you?
  • One cannibal is telling the other, “I ate this priest wearing a robe and sandals yesterday, and he tasted terrible!”
The other one says, “Well, how did you cook him?”
    “Well, I boiled him.”
“There’s your problem. He was a FRIAR!”

Hi Troy and Doug. just finished my last drive for the week. 10 hours on the road + load and unload time. I just wanted to say you guy are still doing an awesome job and keep up the good content.

I’m just about ready to pick out my first pistol and I don’t know what do do. i need something for competition so I’m thinking 9mm. Now i have small hands and when shooting the Sig P226 in the army i found it to big. The one time i got to pick up a Glock the trigger felt squishy, is that what all glocks are like? i like the cz75. it sort of feels about right but haven’t shot it. Are there any pistols you would recommend? I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. thanks.

2 suspects shot after attempted robbery on Abercorn St. near Truman Pkwy.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) –
Two armed would-be thieves tried to stick up a Brinks truck parked near a storage business off Abercorn Street near the Truman Parkway. But the guards inside the truck were able to defend themselves and shot both suspects, who then ran from the scene but didn’t make it far.

“We had a great, timely response by the officers in the area. And we had some concerned citizens that helped us and guided us to the right direction. And that’s one of the reasons that this turned out as well as it did this afternoon,” said SCMPD Capt. Ashley Brown.
Neither Brinks employee was injured.

The suspects have been identified as Gregory Plair, 32 and Joshua Scott, 21. Both are facing charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, criminal attempt at hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal attempt at armed robbery.

Thanks to assistance from the Brink’s security guards and local citizens, police were able to quickly apprehend one of the suspects at a nearby apartment complex. Minutes later the second suspect showed up at the hospital and was taken into custody.

Both suspects received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

I’M SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW and can’t believe what just happened!!!

I had to leave the house to run to the store to pick up a few things. When I got back to the house there were three Sheriff’s vehicles and four deputies in our home. The front door had been knocked off the hinges, stuff was thrown everywhere, and apparently they were looking for something. Then they wouldn’t let me inside, (My family was sitting on the front porch bench in the heat), and the deputies are searching through everything, even going through my refrigerator. They checked inside the closets, under our mattress and just generally tore everything apart.

As you can imagine, I’m a bit upset and trying to figure out what’s going on. I asked if they had a search warrant. The deputy in our bedroom shouted, “Where did you hide it at? We know it’s here! We are searching.” I yelled back, “If I had an idea of what you’re looking for sir, maybe I could help!” He shoots me the “You wanna go to jail?” look, so I shut up and watch one of the other deputies look down at his phone. He calls out, “Guys! Stop! Hold on. We’re in the wrong house! The Pokémon is next door!”

Hi, there

I’ve only found your website today but I had to contact you. I’m a born-again Christian from London (25 years old), my dad was in the Parachute Regiment and I’ve grown up learning about and loving firearms. However, as you may know, most firearms are illegal in the UK (with the exception of double barrel shotguns, some rifles, .22lr calibre weapons and some other shotgun variants, all with limitations). I grew up firing air rifles and air pistols, and was fascinated ever since. I’ve educated myself, to some degree, on firearms. My first passions were WW2 weapons, particular American and German (Mauser K98 is my favourite bolt action rifle). I wish the laws were different here. I completely disagree with the handgun ban, as I find it utterly ridiculous (we can own .50 BMG rifles, but not 9mm handguns ?????). The ban was a result of a school shooting in 1996. Since then, crime (including gun crime and murder) soared. It peaked in 2003, I believe, and gradually reduced. However, it’s still bad. Only gangs and special police units have guns. Hardly any citizens.

I also agree with your stance on self-defence (a right I am not entitled to in my country). The Bible makes no indications that protecting ourselves, or more importantly the innocent is an act of evil or sin. I’m glad to have found some Christians such as yourselves and would like to keep in touch. I’d love to visit the States one day, my dream is to live there in a free state.

Please get back to me.

Regards

Joseph

Hey Troy,

First off, thank you to you and Doug both for the great podcast. I’ve listened regularly since I found it the end of March, shortly after I was saved on March 23rd this year. The positive inspiration and reflection you two offer is great and I appreciate the time you put in to the show.

I’d love to buy two of your new patches. If you’ll let me know how you prefer payment and a total I’ll send it right over.

Thanks again,

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knox County deputies are searching for a man who tried to rob an East Knox County store with a knife, only to be chased off by the store clerk who was carrying a handgun.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect entered Danny’s Market, 1203 Andrew Johnson Highway, around 10:39 p.m., walked up to a customer waiting to pay for her items, held a knife to her throat, and demanded money from the store clerk.

The clerk refused to hand over the cash, instead pulling out his handgun and forcing the suspect to leave. The suspect used the customer as a shield as he backed out of the store and ran off. A witness tried to follow him, but lost him at Clear Springs Road off Mascot Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 25 to 35 years old with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray, long sleeved T-shirt; light blue jeans; and kept his head covered the entire time. He was also wearing possibly camouflage face paint.

Weekly Bible Verses:
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” Luke 24:1-7 (ESV)

A Macon man was shot in the leg after police say he broke into a South Bibb home. According to a news release, it happened around 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to a call of a person shot at a home in the 4500 block of Jones Road. When deputies arrived they found Brandon Renfroe holding a gun at another man who was dressed in all black and lying on the ground in the backyard. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Blake Elliot Herman, had been shot in the leg by the resident. The resident says he heard a noise coming from his sister, Jessica Renfroe’s bedroom. Herman opened the door and saw a man standing in the doorway. Renfroe says the two got into a physical altercation and Herman broke free, running out of the backdoor. Renfroe chased after him with a gun. During the chase, he claims Herman reached into his pocket. Renfroe says he feared for his life, thinking Herman had a gun so he fired twice. Herman was struck in the upper left leg. An incident report from the Sheriff’s Office says when deputies got to the home they saw Herman lying on the ground dressed in black with a grey stocking mask near his head and clear gloves on his hand. Herman allegedly told deputies he had a key to the home and that is how he got into the home. Jessica Renfroe says that she had dated Herman about two years ago, but never gave him a key. Jessica told deputies she used to work with Herman at Papa John’s Pizza and she would always leave her keys and purse in the office while she was working. According to the release, Herman told deputies he used to date the woman and that he was there to get revenge. Herman was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health for treatment for the gunshot wounds. A warrant was issued for burglary. He will be transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center once he is released from the hospital. Police are still investigating. Anyone with information can call the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500.

I really enjoy the weekly podcast. It’s a positive message in a negative world. The hosts glorify God every chance they get.

Samuel Crowe,
Hey Guys!

Thank you for all of the hard work you put into producing the show.  Keep sharing the light of Christ to this dark world. I live in Charleston, SC and attend James Island Baptist Church.  Listed below are the service times and my contact information if someone responds and is interested in visiting.  Thank you.

Also, I have been carrying in a crossbreed super tuck since 2009.  I cannot say enough good things about this holster.   Fortunately I found this holster early in my search process, and because of this, my drawer full of holsters I don’t use is small.  It is by far the most comfortable concealed carry holster I have worn.

In Christ,

Weekly Bible Verses:
Proclaiming Christ Crucified 1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (ESV)

Woman shoots home invader, Tennessean, Nashville, Tenn. 03/18/16
JoShanda Odem was at home in in Antioch, Tenn. when she heard knocking at the door. Using a peephole, Odem determined that the man at her door was a stranger. Odem retreated to her bedroom, retrieved a .357-caliber revolver, and called the police. Eventually, the man broke inside the apartment and entered Odem’s bedroom. Odem responded to the threat by shooting the home invader once, prompting him to flee.
A short time later the wounded intruder sought treatment at a local hospital; he was subsequently captured. Police determined that the home invader was free on bond for an unrelated felony charge at the time of the incident. (Tennessean, Nashville, Tenn. 03/18/16)

Hello Troy,
I guess I could call myself a long time listener.   One of my hobbies is running and I love to listen to your podcast if I find myself running on the treadmill.
I think you have been mentioning that you are working on a protection policy for your church.   I find myself in a similar position presenting an outline and an initial draft of a policy to the Deacons in the near future.
Have you run across any especially good resources for this that you could recommend.   I’m working my way through A Time to Kill which has really had an influence on my thinking.   However, I would love to see any examples or best practices that you have run into that you may be able to share.
Obviously churches don’t leave their protection policies on the internet so it is actually kind of challenging to find a lot of practical information.
Thanks for anything you may be able to offer. Scott Gobrogge

Hey Troy,
Love your show!

Just thought I’d comment about the “sniper rifle” request your nephew I believe you said, made. First of all, I agree that he should get comfortable with what you have first and then begin to build up his own collection, but here is an idea. I’d prefer to build off a varmint platform with a .308 caliber which is a perfect longer range option for any purpose, especially hunting, and it will go out to 1,000 yards or so. Here’s my very affordable wishlist in a “longer” range platform. All told $770.00 without ammo. Good starter package, and then you can add the higher grade optics and triggers and such later. This is literally on my wish list from Sportsmansguide.com.

Senior Right-to-Carry permit holder shoots two attackers, WPVI, Philadelphia, Pa. 03/03/2016

A 65-year-old resident and his wife were walking home from their business in Philadelphia, Pa. when a pair of men attacked them. The resident, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded to the attack by drawing a .45-caliber handgun and firing at the assailants, striking them both and causing them to halt their attack. Police caught up with the attackers a short time later and transported them to the hospital.

The armed citizen did suffer injuries during the incident, with his attorney telling a local media outlet, “This was a matter of life or death. If he didn’t do what he did, and he didn’t have the training to do it. I think we would be at a funeral right now. It’s that bad.” (WPVI, Philadelphia, Pa. 03/03/2016) https://www.nraila.org/articles/20160304/senior-right-to-carry-permit-holder-shoots-two-attackers-wpvi-philadelphia-pa-03032016

The Garden
An old man lived alone in Russia. He wanted to dig his carrot garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison for bank robbery. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his predicament. Shortly, he received this reply,” For HEAVEN’S SAKE Dad, don’t dig up that garden, that’s where I buried the Money!” At 4 A.M. the next morning, a dozen policemen showed up and dug up the entire garden, without finding any money. Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what happened, and asking him what to do next. His son’s reply was: “Now plant your carrots, Dad. It’s the best I could do from here.”

Doug and Troy,

One small addition to your comment on Federal Gun Free Zones. You were absolutely correct that there is a Federal Law it is still active – however there is an exception that if a person is licensed by the state (and had to go through a background check) – then they are exempt from this law.

You are also correct that many states have laws that outlaw it – but for what it is worth Kansas is also one that allows it – although most all schools are posted with no gun signs (but not all).

`(B) Subparagraph (A) shall not apply to the possession of a firearm–
 `(i) on private property not part of school grounds;
`(ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the
State in which the school zone is located or a political  subdivision of
the State, and the law of the State or political  subdivision requires
that, before an individual obtain such a license, the law enforcement
authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual
 is qualified under law to receive the license;
 `(iii) which is–
 `(I) not loaded; and
`(II) in a locked container, or a locked firearms rack which is on a
 motor vehicle;
`(iv) by an individual for use in a program approved by a school in the
 school zone;
`(v) by an individual in accordance with a contract entered into between
a school in the school zone and the individual or an employer of the
 individual;
`(vi) by a law enforcement officer acting in his or her official capacity; or
`(vii) that is unloaded and is possessed by an individual while traversing
school premises for the purpose of gaining access to public or private
lands open to hunting, if the entry on school premises is authorized by
 school authorities.

Weekly Bible Verses:

Moses Given Powerful Signs
1 Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’” 2 The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A staff.” 3 And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it. 4But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”—so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand— 5 “that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” 6 Again, the Lord said to him, “Put your hand inside your cloak.” And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous like snow. 7 Then God said, “Put your hand back inside your cloak.” So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh. 8 “If they will not believe you,” God said, “or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign. 9 If they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you shall take from the Nile will become blood on the dry ground.”

10 But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.”11 Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” 13 But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” 14 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.15 You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do. 16 He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him. 17 And take in your hand this staff, with which you shall do the signs.” Exodus 4:1-17 (ESV)

Why Women don’t Like to carry guns

  1.  Women are afraid of guns
  2.  The wrong gun has been chosen for them based on someone else’s likes.
  3. Unsure of how to carry the gun. On their person or in a purse
  4. Decision to carry with a round chambered. Women are always concerned with the accidental discharge if one is chambered.
  5. Afraid that someone will see the gun imprint and they will know they are carrying.
  6. Uncomfortable
  7. Afraid the children will get ahold of the gun.
  8. First experience with shooting was with a gun that was way to big or way to small. The Kick factor or didn’t have hearing protection in.
  9. They think is a guy thing.
  10. Training – Get your wife or girlfriend into a training class with an instructor. This should be done without your involvement at the training. Women are more at ease learning from someone else. Don’t try to teach your wife to drive a car or shoot a gun. Either way you’re asking for trouble.

My Dad’s Better Than Your Dad
Three boys on the playground were bragging about their dads. One said. “My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a song and they pay him 50 bucks.”
“Oh, yah. My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a poem and they pay him 100 bucks.”
“That’s nothin’,” said the third kid. My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a sermon and it takes six people to collect all the money!”

Politically Correct Have you ever wondered why it’s OK to make jokes about Catholics, Mormons, the Pope, Jews, Christians, the Irish, the Italians, the Polish, the Chinese, the French (including French Canadians), the elderly, bad golfers, Red-Necks etc, but it’s insensitive to make jokes about Muslims?

We need to level the playing field for the sake of political correctness…..
Jeff Fox-worthy on Muslims:

  1. If you refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to liquor, You might be a Muslim.
  2. If you own a $3,000 machine gun and a $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can’t afford shoes, You might be a Muslim.
  3. If you have more wives than teeth, You might be a Muslim.
  4. If you wipe your butt with your bare hand but consider bacon to be unclean, You might be a Muslim.
  5. If you think vests come in two styles: Bullet-proof and suicide; you might be a Muslim.
  6. If you can’t think of anyone you haven’t declared jihad against, You might be a Muslim.
  7. If you consider television dangerous but routinely carry explosives in your clothing, You might be a Muslim.
  8. If you were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other than setting off roadside bombs, You might be a Muslim.
  9. If you have nothing against women and think every man should own at least four, You might be a Muslim.
  10. If you find this offensive and don’t forward it, You might be a Muslim.

(Joke) I was just informed that many species of snakes, lizards and yes gators and crocs all over the south are mysteriously dying. Investigation of this strange and rare occurrence shows that the cause was reptile dysfunction.

Message: Hello! I can’t recall which one of you said this, but you were discussing a recent story about a CCW person coming to the aid of a police officer near a school. One of you stated that you were wondering if the altercation actually occurred on school property. Your reason for the query was that you believe it is federal law that schools are gun-free zones and it is illegal to carry a gun onto any school property. You are not correct at all. It is true that many states, probably including your own, have a law barring guns from school property, but certainly not all. I live in Oregon and it is perfectly legal to carry my concealed firearm onto school property, provided I have my CHL. I’m sure that many states are like this. It is wrong to put out information that is incorrect about legal gun rights. I believe it is wrong for a state to have such prohibitions, as I’m sure you do, too. One small way we can help our rights is for gun owners and CCW holders to know that schools being GFZ’s is not normal and is not a foregone conclusion. It is not federal law that schools be “gun-free”, but state law. Perhaps we can get this changed in every state! It’s for the children!!

Weekly Bible Verses:
6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that youbear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. John 15:6-8 (ESV)

The Gun Grabbers Are Coming! Lexington Massachusetts Now Faces Semi-Automatic “Gun Confiscation By Mike Sweeney, Gun Owners Action League “Just as we fired the first shot to start the revolution, this might be the first shot – no pun intended – to start a movement against assault weapons that would capture the state and therefore maybe explode to reach the country.”

-Robert Rotberg author and catalyst of Lexington’s gun ban proposal.

Lexington, Massachusetts.  Does the name of that quaint New England town ring a bell for anyone?  It should, Lexington, MA, is where American independence was kicked into high gear.  On April 19, 1775, the British “red coats” marched out of Boston, heading for Concord, intending to seize caches of arms stored by local militias.  They were first met on the Lexington town green and the skirmish was on, the rest as they say is history.” http://dailycaller.com/2016/02/23/the-gun-grabbers-are-coming-lexington-massachusetts-now-faces-semi-automatic-gun-confiscation/

71-year-old stops home invader, WSOC, Charlotte, N.C. 02/16/16
Disabled 71-year-old Tony Pitts was watching TV in bed at home in Hickory, N.C. when he heard his sliding glass door shatter. Pitts retrieved a .22-caliber pistol, went to investigate and saw a man coming through the broken door. Pitts responded to the threat by firing at the criminal, striking him twice. The home invader was taken to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, Pitts told a reporter, “I didn’t want to but had to… If I hadn’t shot him, he might have shot me. I don’t know.” A friend of Pitts was supportive, adding, “He did the right thing I would have done the same thing… These people are dangerous you know. Hate to shoot people like that, but these people make you shoot them.” (WSOC, Charlotte, N.C. 02/16/16)

Dead Dog
A man runs into the vet’s office carrying his dog, screaming for help. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put his dog down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments, tells the man that his dog, regrettably, is dead. The man, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion.
The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a cat and puts the cat down next to the dog’s body. The cat sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, poking and sniffing the dog’s body and finally looks at the vet and meows.
The vet looks at the man and says, “I’m sorry, but the cat thinks that you’re dog is dead, too.” The man is still unwilling to accept that his dog is dead. So the vet brings in a black Labrador retriever. The lab sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, and finally looks at the vet and barks. The vet looks at the man and says, “I’m sorry, but the lab thinks your dog is dead too.”
The man, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes. The vet answers, “$650.”
“$650 to tell me my dog is dead?” exclaims the man.
“Well,” the vet replies, “I would only have charged you $50 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $600 was for the cat scan and lab tests.

Troy and Doug,

If you remember, at the tail end of last year I ask for prayers for my stepdaughter Emily. She was in a bad snowboarding accident and has been in ICU in VA ever since. I was just up there this weekend and I am happy to report that everyone’s prayers are working. Her brain is no longer swelling and they have her off that monitor. They have also taken the breathing tube out of her. She is slowly progressing, but progress all the same. She still doesn’t realize what’s going on but is slowing waking up. It may take a few days for her to come about after being on all that medication. She does respond to the touch, which is a great leap from where we were just two weeks ago.

I want to think both of you for your prayers and adding her to the Facebook page. It really meant a lot in our time of need. The prayers are working. I would also like to ask that you add Ivy to your prayer list. She is in the ICU step-down unit there in VA and was in a terrible accident. The doctors had to remove part of her skull. I was unable to meet with her but according to my wife, her head now looks like a Teepee ( to put it bluntly). I know the family of Ivy are going through some insurance issues at the moment, I pray that the situation be resolved. Emily, whoever, should be moved to the step-down unit in the next couple of days. At that point, I believe the family is planning to move her to Atlanta for the rehab portion. Thanks again for all the prayers. I can’t even begin to tell you how much they have meant to our family.

Your Brother in Christ,
Steven A. Campbell

In the last podcast, a question was asked about what out of state permits would be good to get since that person lived in Va. That person could apply for the Florida or Utah out of state permits. With the Utah permit . a class is required by a Utah approved instructor. Let that person know to go to “handgunlaw.us” website for info on how to apply. I want to thank you guys for such a great and inspiring podcast. I read my bible everyday and when I listen to the podcast, it adds that much more. Keep up the great and important work. Yours in Christ.

Chicago cellphone store employee fights off a pair of armed robbers, WLS-TV, Chicago, Ill. 01/13/16, Chicago Tribune, Chicago, Ill. 01/14/16
A pair of men armed with handguns entered a T-Mobile store in Chicago, Ill. in an attempt to rob the establishment. An employee, and Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded to the threat by drawing a gun and firing at the robbers, striking both and causing them to flee. A short time later police caught up with the thieves when they sought medical treatment for their wounds.

Store manager Neil Tadros expressed support for his employee following the incident, telling a local media outlet, “I think concealed carry is a great opportunity for managers, workers, employees to protect themselves in these cases. And our employee did a great job to protect themselves and the other employee.” The Chicago Tribune reported that Tadros had further praise for Illinois’ relatively new Right-to-Carry law, stating, “It’s a great thing to have to protect yourself even when you’re not in your business. If you’re out in the streets and someone is threatening your life, you can go out and protect yourself.” (WLS-TV, Chicago, Ill. 01/13/16, Chicago Tribune, Chicago, Ill. 01/14/16)
