Comedy Corner
A Priest, A Minister, A Rabbi And A Bear
A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who’s best at his job. So each one goes into the woods, finds
a bear, and attempts to convert it. Later, they all get together. The priest begins: “When I found the bear, I read to him from the catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his first Communion.”

“I found a bear by the stream,” says the minister, “and preached God’s holy Word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him.”

They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. “Looking back,” he says, “maybe I shouldn’t have started with the
circumcision.”

Cannibal Jokes (Jeff Quinn)

  • A cannibal passed his brother in the woods.
  • Two cannibals were eating a clown. One looks up and says, “Does this taste funny to you?
  • One cannibal is telling the other, “I ate this priest wearing a robe and sandals yesterday, and he tasted terrible!”
The other one says, “Well, how did you cook him?”
    “Well, I boiled him.”
“There’s your problem. He was a FRIAR!”

Hi Troy and Doug. just finished my last drive for the week. 10 hours on the road + load and unload time. I just wanted to say you guy are still doing an awesome job and keep up the good content.

I’m just about ready to pick out my first pistol and I don’t know what do do. i need something for competition so I’m thinking 9mm. Now i have small hands and when shooting the Sig P226 in the army i found it to big. The one time i got to pick up a Glock the trigger felt squishy, is that what all glocks are like? i like the cz75. it sort of feels about right but haven’t shot it. Are there any pistols you would recommend? I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. thanks.

2 suspects shot after attempted robbery on Abercorn St. near Truman Pkwy.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) –
Two armed would-be thieves tried to stick up a Brinks truck parked near a storage business off Abercorn Street near the Truman Parkway. But the guards inside the truck were able to defend themselves and shot both suspects, who then ran from the scene but didn’t make it far.

“We had a great, timely response by the officers in the area. And we had some concerned citizens that helped us and guided us to the right direction. And that’s one of the reasons that this turned out as well as it did this afternoon,” said SCMPD Capt. Ashley Brown.
Neither Brinks employee was injured.

The suspects have been identified as Gregory Plair, 32 and Joshua Scott, 21. Both are facing charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, criminal attempt at hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal attempt at armed robbery.

Thanks to assistance from the Brink’s security guards and local citizens, police were able to quickly apprehend one of the suspects at a nearby apartment complex. Minutes later the second suspect showed up at the hospital and was taken into custody.

Both suspects received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Hello Troy,
I guess I could call myself a long time listener.   One of my hobbies is running and I love to listen to your podcast if I find myself running on the treadmill.
I think you have been mentioning that you are working on a protection policy for your church.   I find myself in a similar position presenting an outline and an initial draft of a policy to the Deacons in the near future.
Have you run across any especially good resources for this that you could recommend.   I’m working my way through A Time to Kill which has really had an influence on my thinking.   However, I would love to see any examples or best practices that you have run into that you may be able to share.
Obviously churches don’t leave their protection policies on the internet so it is actually kind of challenging to find a lot of practical information.
Thanks for anything you may be able to offer. Scott Gobrogge

Hey Troy,
Love your show!

Just thought I’d comment about the “sniper rifle” request your nephew I believe you said, made. First of all, I agree that he should get comfortable with what you have first and then begin to build up his own collection, but here is an idea. I’d prefer to build off a varmint platform with a .308 caliber which is a perfect longer range option for any purpose, especially hunting, and it will go out to 1,000 yards or so. Here’s my very affordable wishlist in a “longer” range platform. All told $770.00 without ammo. Good starter package, and then you can add the higher grade optics and triggers and such later. This is literally on my wish list from Sportsmansguide.com.

Senior Right-to-Carry permit holder shoots two attackers, WPVI, Philadelphia, Pa. 03/03/2016

A 65-year-old resident and his wife were walking home from their business in Philadelphia, Pa. when a pair of men attacked them. The resident, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded to the attack by drawing a .45-caliber handgun and firing at the assailants, striking them both and causing them to halt their attack. Police caught up with the attackers a short time later and transported them to the hospital.

The armed citizen did suffer injuries during the incident, with his attorney telling a local media outlet, “This was a matter of life or death. If he didn’t do what he did, and he didn’t have the training to do it. I think we would be at a funeral right now. It’s that bad.” (WPVI, Philadelphia, Pa. 03/03/2016) https://www.nraila.org/articles/20160304/senior-right-to-carry-permit-holder-shoots-two-attackers-wpvi-philadelphia-pa-03032016

Comedy Corner:
A funeral service is being held in a church for a woman who has just passed away. At the end of the service, the pallbearers carrying the casket accidentally bump into a wall jarring the casket. They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the women is actually alive. She lives for 10 more years and then dies. A ceremony is again held at the same church and at the end the pallbearers are again carrying the casket out. As they are walking, the husband calls out, “Watch out for the wall!”

Two priests died at the same time and meet St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter says, “I’d like to get you guys in now but our computers are down. You’ll have to go back to Earth for about a week, but you can’t go back as humans. What’ll it be?”

The first priest says, “I’ve always wanted to be an eagle, soaring above the Rocky Mountains.”

“So be it,” says St. Peter, and off flies the first priest.

The second priest mulls this over for a moment and asks, “Will you be keeping track of us, St. Peter ?”

“No, I told you the computer is down. There’s no way we can keep track of what you are doing. This week’s a freebie.”

“In that case,” says the second priest, “I’ve always wanted to be a stud.”

“So be it,” says St. Peter, and the second priest disappears.

A week goes by, the computer is fixed and the Lord tells St. Peter to recall the two priests.

“Will you have trouble locating them?” He asks.

“The first one should be easy,” says St. Peter. “He’s somewhere over the Rocky Mountains, flying with the eagles. But the second one could prove to be more difficult.”

“Why?” asks the Lord.

“Because he’s on a snow tire somewhere in Alaska.”

Weekly Bible Verses
John 13:6-17 (ESV)
5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” 8 Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” 9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” 10 Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. Elderly couple fights off real monsters on Halloween, Helena-Arkansas.com, Helena, Ark.
An elderly couple were at home Halloween night, when the doorbell rang. Prepared to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, the wife opened the door to find four armed robbers, at least two of whom were armed with guns.
The robbers forced their way inside the home, where the husband was sitting in a recliner. Upon learning of the home invasion, the husband retrieved a gun and fired at the criminals, prompting the home invaders to flee. (Helena-Arkansas.com, Helena, Ark. 11/01/15)

Store owner uses semi-automatic rifle to repel armed robbers, WISN, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15, WITI, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15

Rami Murrar, owner of Bouchard’s clothing store in Milwaukee, Wisc., was tending to his establishment when at around 4 a.m. a van smashed into the security doors and concrete posts protecting his store. A daring organized heist; after the van broke through the doors, three armed men attempted to gain access to the store. Murrar responded to the threat by retrieving a semi-automatic rifle and firing at the armed intruders, striking one and causing all to flee. A short time later police caught up with one of the suspected robbers at a local hospital.

Following the incident, Murrar told a local news outlet, “It was a lot of guys out there. So I believe if they would’ve gotten through that door, I would’ve been dead, so that’s the reason I reached for my gun.” Despite his successful experience with armed self-defense, Murrar made clear he did not relish the position he was placed in and showed mercy towards his attackers, stating, “I’m glad the guy made it. Again, I didn’t come to work that night or that day to kill somebody, so I hope he recovers from what happened, and he learns a lesson and be a good message for all the young guys out there.” (WISN, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15, WITI, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15)

Day After Christmas
The pastor was looking over the manger scene the day after Christmas when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing. He went outside and saw a little boy pulling a new red wagon. In the wagon was Jesus.

We walked up to the boy and said, “Hi, there. Where did you get the baby Jesus?”

The boy answered honestly, “In the church.”

“Why did you take him?” the pastor asked.

“Well,” said the boy, “I prayed to the Lord Jesus and asked him for a wagon for Christmas. I told Him that if He gave me one, I’d take Him for a ride in it.”

Bible Verses

DO GOOD IN SUFFERING (1 PET. 4:12-19).

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. Police say a robbery attempt was stopped when the potential victim pulled out his gun.

The attempted robbery occurred when Gary Royer, a gun owner, was delivering pizza to a residence at Sibbet Avenue in Douglas.

The suspect, identified as Antavious McTear, approached Royer and threatened him with a metal bar.

That’s when Royer pulled out his gun and pointed it at McTear, who turned and sped away in his car.

Authorities caught him a short time later and booked him into the Coffee County jail.

Nothing was stolen.

Comedy Corner:
Chuck Norris can make molehills out of mountains.

Today’s headlines revealed that the Joker died from blunt force trauma to the head. Eyewitnesses’ report Chuck Norris had the Joker cornered when the Joker out of breath exclaimed, “where is your helper?” Chuck Norris replied, “I work alone.” The joker, certain he must be lying asked again, “where is your partner?” ChuckNorris replied,  “I have no partner, I work alone.”

The joker, red faced with anger, replied- “No single super hero corners the Joker
without help, “SHOW ME YOUR SIDEKICK!”

Everyone including the silhouette target salutes Chuck Norris

Listener Feedback:

Dear
Doug and Troy,

I continue to enjoy listening to your podcast. It was nice to hear some Chuck
Norris jokes again. My all time favorite is still from episode 011, listening to
Brandt try to share his own Chuck Norris joke.

In the earlier shows when Chuck Norris jokes were given in every comedy corner, I
would e-mail the jokes to my brother and sister. My brother Dan seems to have
inherited the creative story telling ability in our family and would come up
with his own jokes. I collected the jokes and now send them to you in case you
ever want to use any.

Thanks again for the great show.

In Christ,
Ken

P.S.: Some Chuck Norris Jokes from My brother Dan Tons of them for the future.

From: Dwayne
Subject: Hey Guys

Been busy and just now catching up on your podcasts. Glad Doug was prepared to protect his family but didn’t have to. Hate to think what would have happened had he not been prepared though.

Also glad to hear that Troy is using his knowledge to help keep his church safe. Both these things are excellent examples of the need for not only responsible Christian gun ownership but a willingness to share knowledge, skills and abilities.

Speaking of being busy I am leaving my current job and taking a new one about 3 hours away. I would appreciate your prayers and the prayers of the other listeners as we try to sell a house, buy a house, find a new church and all the other stuff that comes with relocating. Please pray for God’s guidance and peace so the stress on my lovely bride and daughters can be kept to a minimum.

Take care,
Dwayne

Bible Verses
UNITED WITH CHRIST
WE BEAR GOOD FRUIT

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. (John 15:1-8)

NRA Armed Citizen
Homeowner kills one of two home invaders, The Hickory Record, Hickory, N.C. 02/25/15

A homeowner in Claremont, N.C. became aware of a break-in attempt, retrieved a 12-gauge shotgun and called 911. A pair of criminals eventually made their way inside the home, but when they came upon the homeowner, the resident fired, striking and killing one of the home invaders and causing the other to flee.

Following the incident, Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid told a local media outlet, “No one likes to take anybody’s life… But at this point, he thought his life was being threatened and protected himself and his wife, which he has a right to do.” The sheriff also made clear that the suspect who fled could face felony murder charges in the death of his accomplice.
