Bob left work one Friday evening.

But it was payday, so instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend his buddies and spending his entire paycheck.

When he finally appeared at home on Sunday night, he was confronted by his angry wife and was barraged for nearly two hours. Finally his wife stopped the nagging and said to him, “How would you like it if you didn’t see me for two or three days?”

He replied, “That would be fine with me.”

Monday went by and he didn’t see his wife.

Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results.

But on Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye.

Bible Verse

54 Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. 55 But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” 57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. 58 Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Acts 7:54-59 (ESV)

Socialism also has a way of producing bloated bureaucracies that in turn produce ever greater scarcity. Along the way, this produces ever more corruption and cronyism. Censorship puts down deep roots because dissent cannot be tolerated or the system would collapse. Those are all prime ingredients for a closed society and surveillance state. Yet everybody is supposed to lay back and enjoy it.”

Prime Examples of Socialism starving and killing Millions: Venezuela, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Cuba, China, Soviet Union. First killed are anyone with prosperous business, teachers, Christians and Jews.

Socialism claims to have Christian Roots and Traits, nothing could be further from the truth. Personal Charity, Church Charity, vs Government redistribution to gather power.

Police: Armed bystander takes down gunman at Titusville back-to-school event

By: Chip Skambis

Updated: Aug 11, 2018 – 11:45 AM

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – An armed bystander shot a man who opened fire on a back-to-school event at a Titusville park after a fistfight, police said.

The shooting occurred at Isaac Campbell Park on South Street shortly after 5:20 p.m. when the shooter, whom police have not identified, returned to the park after a fistfight and began firing, investigators said.

A bystander, who was licensed to a carry a firearm, shot the gunman, police said. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The bystander who shot the man waited for officers and was cooperative with the investigation, police said.

“We are extremely grateful that nobody else was injured in this incident,” said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson. “This suspect opened fire at a crowded public park, this could have been so much worse.”

A flyer posted on Facebook and Instagram said a back to school event called “Peace in the City” was going on at the park at the time of the shooting.

Forgetful,

There was an elderly couple who in their old age noticed that they were getting a lot more forgetful, so they decided to go to the doctor. The doctor told them that they should start writing things down so they don’t forget. They went home and the old lady told her husband to get her a bowl of ice cream. “You might want to write it down,” she said. The husband said, “No, I can remember that you want a bowl of ice cream.” She then told her husband she wanted a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream. “Write it down,” she told him, and again he said, “No, no, I can remember: you want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream.” Then the old lady said she wants a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top. “Write it down,” she told her husband and again he said, “No, I got it. You want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top.” So he goes to get the ice cream and spends an unusually long time in the kitchen, over 30 minutes. He comes out to his wife and hands her a plate of eggs and bacon. The old wife stares at the plate for a moment, then looks at her husband and asks, “Where’s the toast?”

Armed Citizen Effectively Defends Family In Houston

ED MORRISSEY

Posted at 6:01 pm on July 18, 2018

“How many of us,” KHOU’s Michelle Choi asked earlier this morning, “have showed up to our driveways late at night, gotten out of our cars thinking everything is safe?” One Houston woman did exactly that last night and got attacked by two men intending on conducting a home-invasion robbery. Unfortunately, the perpetrators chose their target poorly:

Investigators said it all started when the man’s wife pulled into their driveway Tuesday night. Then the two armed suspects jumped out and tried to rob her.

First, they took her purse, and then they tried to force her into the house. However, that is when her husband showed up.

He heard the commotion from inside, grabbed his gun and ended up exchanging gunfire with the intruders. Fortunately, the couple weren’t hit, but one of the suspects was hit in the head, police said. The other suspect took off running.

“One can only imagine what was going through their mind,” Choi added. I’d guess it was something along the lines of thank goodness we could effectively defend ourselves. The victims should be thankful to live in a state that doesn’t go out of its way to interfere with that right, too.

A good guy with a gun not only stopped a bad guy with a gun, but he

almost certainly saved lives, starting with his own. Opponents of the individual right to bear arms usually dismiss these scenarios as improbable, if not entirely theoretical. That’s why it’s well worth highlighting such incidents when they occur, even if they largely speak for themselves.

The Trucker sent to us by Keith Hagen

A truck driver walked into a cafe and placed his order, I would like 3 flat tires, a pair of  headlights and a pair of running boards.

A brand new waitress not wanting to seem stupid went into the kitchen and tells the cook, THis guy wants 3 flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards, does he think he is in an auto parts store said the waitress.

No the cook replies, he wants 3 pancakes, 2 eggs sunny side up and 2 pieces of bacon. The waitress said Oh Ok.

She thought about it for a minute and spooned up a bowl of beans and took them to the customer.

The trucker asks, what is this for. The waitress replied, while you are waiting for your 3 flat tires, 2 headlights and a pair of running boards I thought you might want to go ahead and gas up.

Great Ruling by of all thing the 9th Circus 3 to 2 ruling upholding the right of people to carry Guns in public.

Reuters By Jonathan Allen and Diana Kruzman

A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment protects the right to openly carry a gun in public for self-defense, rejecting a claim by Hawaii officials that the right only applies to guns kept at home.

The ruling by a three-judge panel on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, makes the San Francisco-based court the sixth U.S. circuit court to interpret the Second Amendment this way and could set the issue on a path toward the U.S. Supreme Court, which has not taken up a major gun rights case since 2010.

The extent of the right to gun ownership is one of the most hotly contested debates in the United States, where mass shootings have become almost commonplace.

In a split two-to-three decision on Tuesday, the panel found Hawaii infringed on the rights of plaintiff George Young when it twice denied him a permit to carry a gun outside.

“We do not take lightly the problem of gun violence,” Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain wrote in Tuesday’s ruling. “But, for better or for worse, the Second Amendment does protect a right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense.”

The 9th Circuit had ruled in 2016 that the Second Amendment does not guarantee a right to carry concealed firearms in public in Peruta v. County of San Diego.

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to rule on that decision last year.

President Donald Trump, a vocal gun rights supporter, is seeking to fill a vacant Supreme Court seat and make the court more conservative, raising the prospect that it may take up more cases in coming years.

Alan Beck, a lawyer for the plaintiff in Tuesday’s ruling, said he believed the question about openly carrying firearms would eventually end up before the Supreme Court.

“I think the Supreme Court is receptive to this,” Beck said in a phone interview.

Attorneys for the state of Hawaii were not immediately available for comment.

Judge Richard Clifton dissented from Tuesday’s ruling, saying the Second Amendment does not preclude the sort of licensing rules used in Hawaii and elsewhere.

Laws on openly carrying firearms vary widely by state and type of gun. The most restrictive are California, which falls under the 9th Circuit’s jurisdiction, Florida, Illinois and the District of Columbia, which generally prohibit people from openly carrying any sort of firearm, according to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, a nonprofit policy organization that favors greater gun control.

Hawaii is one of 15 states that requires a license or permit to openly carry a handgun, according to the center’s data.

In 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled for the first time that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep guns at home for self-defense.

The Second Amendment was adopted in 1789 and reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Feedback:

Hey guys,

I stumbled across your podcast a few weeks ago and it is exactly what I have been looking for. I am a Christian directly followed by a husband and father of 3. I have recently gotten back into my interest if firearms.  I grew up around guns and hunting but as I got married and had kids I didn’t have the time. Recently my adult daughter was the victim of a violent crime and the reality hit me that I must do a better job of protecting my family! I have gotten myself a gen 5 Glock 19 for my EDC,  taken classes and am currently waiting on my CCW permit. I was wondering if you all have or would consider a closed Facebook group to accompany the podcast? I listen to a few other podcasts and one of them is for Christian Dads called Dad Tired. They have a closed group for like minded Christian dads to discuss various topics.  I recently posted in that group inquiring if others had taken on the responsibility of protecting their families using their 2nd amendment rights. I was shocked that in less than 24 hours later there were well over 200 comments from Christian Dads that shared my views and interest in the subject. I am a member of a few other Facebook gun groups but they are full of a bunch of knuckleheads and sometime content can be far from Christian. Anyway, just thought I would throw it out there that there would be interest in this or something similar. Thank you guys so much for all that you do. I plan to keep on keeping my gun close and my bible closer!

Mom Shoots Man Trying to Steal SUV With Kids Inside: Cops

The mother shot the man in the head when he refused her orders to stop the vehicle, police say

By Brian Roth

Published at 8:16 AM EDT on Jul 5, 2018 | Updated at 6:23 AM EDT on Jul 6, 2018

A mother shot a man who tried to steal her SUV while her two toddlers were still inside the vehicle in Dallas Wednesday night, police said.

It happened about 10 p.m. outside a Shell service station in the 100 block of West Camp Wisdom Road.

“It happened so fast,” said the woman, who asked to be identified as Michelle because she feared for her family’s safety. “Not even five minutes, not even five minutes. It happened so fast!”

She asked not to show her face on camera as she recounted the incident.

The mother had stepped inside the gas station when a man climbed into the driver’s seat and tried to drive away, according to police. Michelle said her 2-year-old and 4-year-old children were still in the back seat.

She jumped back into the vehicle and ordered the man to stop the car.

“I seen my two babies still back there,” Michelle explained. “I’m asking the man, ‘hey, my kids are back here. Stop! Pull over! Pull over!’ He’s not even acknowledging anything about my kids.”

Michelle says she tried to push the gear into park as the car rolled down the parking lot. When he refused to stop, Michelle pulled a gun from the glove box and shot the man, who then drove the SUV into a utility pole, according to police.

“When I see that he’s not trying to stop, he kept hitting the gas, I went toward my glove compartment and grabbed my gun and I fired at him from the side,” she said.

Michelle and her children were unharmed.

“Just to see him slumped over like I was just like, Lord, my kids [are] in the car. They done seen me shoot somebody,” she recalled.

The man, identified by police as Ricky Wright, was transported to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Wright, 36, was charged with two counts of unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Michelle was not facing charges, according to police.

NBC 5’s Maria Guerrero contributed to this report.

Armed bystanders kill shooter at Oklahoma City restaurant
By Jamiel Lynch, Michelle Krupa and Joe Sterling, CNN

Updated 3:30 PM ET, Fri May 25, 2018
(CNN) Armed bystanders gunned down a shooter Thursday at an Oklahoma City restaurant, killing him, police said.

A man opened fire with a handgun in Louie’s Grill & Bar, striking three people inside the restaurant from a position outside the front door, Oklahoma City Police Capt. Bo Matthews told reporters.

As the gunman ran from the scene, two bystanders got their own handguns from the trunks of their vehicles, then confronted and fatally shot the attacker outside the restaurant, Mathews said Friday.

“They were able to shoot this suspect and put an end to this very dangerous situation,” Mathews said, adding that the men — Carlos Nazario, 35, and Bryan Wittle, 39 — did not know each other. It’s not clear who fired the fatal shot. Police initially said only one man fired on the attacker.

The bystanders’ actions were “well within their legal rights” and likely would be protected by good Samaritan laws, Mathews said. He deferred a final call to the Oklahoma County district attorney, whose staff did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment. “These guys were protecting somebody else’s life,” the police captain said. “You can say they are heroes.” The attacker was identified by police as Alexander C. Tilghman, 28, of Oklahoma City. “It doesn’t look like he knew anybody at the restaurant,” Mathews said, adding that Tilghman had no known history of mental illness and appears to have acted alone. The motive remains unknown.

The three who were wounded remain in good condition Friday, police said.

Guys,

My first Crossbreed “Super-Tuck” Deluxe is on order and I want you to know I used the Affiliate link I found on your website.

Troy, wish me luck, I will be testing for Technician class tomorrow.  You inspired me to dust off my 20 year fascination with Amateur radio. Between school, house fire, moving 900 miles and life I all but forgot that back in 98 I wanted to get my license.

So with the least expensive radio I could clear with the boss ( as beautiful as she is ) in my hand I finally start my Amateur radio journey.

God bless guys, look forward to the next show.

Bible Verse

6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. 12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:6-13 ESV

Homeowner held burglary suspect at gunpoint
A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning after deputies say a homeowner held him at gunpoint in his garage.

By  News Editor March 5, 2018 | 12:24pm

About 2am Sunday, March 4th, a Ferndale homeowner in the 2200 block of Brown Road reported hearing loud banging noises outside his home and armed himself to investigate. According to Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Undersheriff Jeff Parks, the homeowner found a broken window at the back of his garage and discovered a man inside a fenced area.

Before the homeowner could display his firearm, the man threw himself to the ground shouting “Just shoot me,” “Just take me to jail” and “Just tase me,” according to Parks.

911 was called and the call receiver was informed of the subject being held at gunpoint. WCSO deputies were dispatched and Ferndale Police officers also responded to assist. FPD officers detained the suspect without incident according to Ferndale Police Lieutenant Bill Hatchett.

Parks said in an email, “The subject continued to act strangely and was physically uncooperative with LE, appeared to be under influence.”

Darren K Olson-Young, age 20, was subsequently booked into the Whatcom County Jail by WCSO deputies charged with 2nd degree burglary and 3rd degree malicious mischief (<$750). As of this morning, jail records showed Olson-Young in custody pending a $5000 bail or bond.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. The sheriff asks for license and registration. The lawyer asks, “What for?” The sheriff responds, “You didn’t come to a complete stop at the stop sign.” The lawyer says, “I slowed down and no one was coming.” “You still didn’t come to a complete stop. License and registration please,” say the sheriff impatiently. The lawyer says, “If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I’ll give you my license and registration and you can give me the ticket. Brothers,

Greetings from Massachusetts! Can you believe there are still gun owners AND Christians in Massachusetts? Hard to believe right? I can’t say there are many of us, but I know there are at least a few 🙂

I really enjoy your show. It gives me a taste of what real freedom must be like!

As much as I would like to abandon this state, it is where God has put us for the time being so I am doing what I can to support those fighting for our rights here. Yesterday, I kicked off a t-shirt fundraiser to support one of our state 2A groups if you are interested in supporting or sharing:

Thanks brothers and if you ever have the misplessure of ending up in MA, let me know and I would love to take you to the range!

Just got the opportunity to listen to the episode with Michael Giaramita from US Law Shield and had to write after hearing something Michael said. I was that guy that Michael mentioned who he signed the book mentioning the God and Guns Podcast. He is personally responsible for me being a listener to the podcast.

I believe I was wearing a shirt that says “Jesus loves me and My guns.” And that started the conversation that night. He mentioned the podcast and after all this time I had forgotten that he was the one who told me about it. I’ve been a listener ever since that day.

Michael delivered a very informative seminar on firearms law and it really opened my eyes to the responsibility of a gun owner to know the laws relating to how to respond after any incident involving the use of a firearm. While his book on PA gun laws was filled with facts and very informative, the seminars ran by US Law Shield made it easy to understand.

I can’t thank Michael enough for telling me about the God and Guns Podcast and you guys for the great podcast.

Blessings, Your brother in Christ,

Bible Verse

15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Bowie County Sheriff’s Office: Private citizen shot man trying to break into home
Thursday, February 1st 2018, 2:49 pm EDT Thursday, February 1st 2018, 2:49 pm EDT
By Gary Bass, Digital Content Producer
BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) – Authorities in Bowie County are investigating an incident in which a private citizen shot a man who was allegedly trying to break into the person’s home Wednesday night.

According to a press release from the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital for treatment, and he was in stable condition as of Thursday morning.

Bowie County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched out to a disturbance call in the 100 block of Bateson Lane on Wednesday at about 9:35 p.m. The 911 caller told the dispatcher that an intoxicated man wearing blue jeans, no shirt, and a teal hat was causing a disturbance at that location.

While the BCSO deputies were still on their way to the scene, the dispatcher told them that a burglary was in progress in the 400 block of Fricks Lane, which is adjacent to the location of the original disturbance call, the press release stated.

“This caller said that a white male was attempting to break into her home through the back door and her husband, Joseph Combs, had shot the intruder,” the press release stated. “Deputy Michelle Carrier and Texas Department Public Safety Trooper Chad Turner arrived a short time later.”

The law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene first found a man matching the description of the Bateson Lane disturbance suspect lying in the backyard of the home on Fricks Lane. The man, who was later identified as Michael Wade McBride, 26, of Texarkana, had a visible gunshot wound, the press release stated.

McBride was alert when the law enforcement officers found him, and a Life Net ambulance took him to St. Michael’s Hospital for treatment.

“No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing,” the press release stated.

Short season

On the first day of the deer hunting season, a hunter fell out of a deer stand and broke both his legs. “Why couldn’t this happen on my last day of hunting?!” the hunter cried to the doctor. “It did,” the doctor replied.

Thanks, Pastor

A deer hunter asked his Pastor if it was a sin to hunt on Sunday. “From what I hear about your aim,” said the Pastor, “It’s a sin for you to hunt any time.”

Doctors Duck Hunting

Five doctors went duck shooting one day. Included in the group were a GP, a pediatrician, a psychiatrist, a surgeon and a pathologist.

Soon, a bird came winging overhead. The first to react was the GP who raised his shotgun, but then hesitated. “I’m not quite sure it’s a duck,” he said, “I think that I will have to get a second opinion from a specialist.” By that time, the bird was long gone.

Another bird appeared in the sky. This time the pediatrician drew a bead on it. He too, however, was unsure if it was really a duck in his sights. Besides, it might have babies. “I’ll have to do some more investigations,” he muttered, as the creature made good its escape.

Next to spy a bird flying was the sharp-eyed psychiatrist. Shotgun shouldered, he was more certain of his intended prey’s identity. “Now, I know it’s a duck, but does it know it’s a duck?” The fortunate bird disappeared while the fellow wrestled with this dilemma.

Finally a fourth fowl sped past and this time the surgeon’s weapon pointed skyward. BOOM!! The surgeon lowered his smoking gun and turned nonchalantly to the pathologist beside him. “Go see if that was a duck, will you?”

Hi Guys,
I know that you avoid politics whenever possible but thought this was interesting. I got a call from a lady that stated she was calling for a survey and would I answer 3 or 4 questions with a yes or no. I told her that I would.  Her first question was, ” Do you approve of Donald Trump’s performance as president so far?” I answered, “Yes” The woman hung up on me and didn’t ask any other questions.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy the live feeds when I remember to tune into them but always listen to the podcast. ~Bill Donovan

Bible Verse
‘Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.’ James 5:13-16

Concealed Carry holder holds robbery suspect at gunpoint
BROWNSVILLE, Ky (WBKO) — A Grayson County man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a residence in Edmonson County.
The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Robert Hunt was held at gunpoint by the homeowner until deputies arrived to the house on E.G. Nash Road. The homeowner was a Concealed/Carry Deadly Weapons permit holder according to a sheriff’s deputy that says in situations like that, it’s important to alert police to ensure everyone’s safety. “Once you call police, if you’re actually going to hold that suspect at gunpoint you need to let dispatch know. Go ahead and give a description of yourself, so we know once we get on scene who the actual conceal carry holder is and who actually is the suspect,” said Deputy Jordan Jones with the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office. Hunt was taken to the Hart County jail. He’s facing charges of robbery 2nd degree, theft by unlawful taking or disposition-firearms, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition-all others under $500.

Sniffer Dog
A man boards a plane and is seated next to an Air Marshall and his ‘sniffing dog’.  Soon, the plane takes off and the Marshall says, “Sniffer, search.” The dog walks along the aisle, and stops next to a woman. He then returns to his seat and puts a paw on the Marshall’s arm.

“Good boy,” says the Marshall.

“What happened?” asks the man.

“That woman is in possession of marijuana. We’ll arrest her when we land.”

Once again, Sniffer searches the aisles. He stops beside a man, then returns to his seat, and places two paws on the Marshall’s arm.

“That man is carrying cocaine,” the Marshall explains.

The dog walks up the aisle again, then races back, jumps into his seat, and poops all over it.

“What’s going on?!” demands the man.

The Marshall nervously replies, “He just found a bomb!”

Bible Verse
‘ Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.’ Isaiah 53:1-11
